Trying out the new Tuff Top Coat

Trying out the new Tuff Top Coat

There's a new product in town, one which we enjoyed using on a recent commission. The clients love wooden furniture and on a previous job we removed water marks and stains from a beautiful console table and varnished it in finishing coat. As it's fully waterproof it meant they wouldn't need to worry about water marks on the table any more and has a nice gleam. It suited the piece and they were very pleased with it.

This time, they had a chair and wanted a matt finish. Enter Frenchic's brand-new Tuff Top Coat (TTC). Frenchic developed this water-based product as a heavy duty sealant with a flat matte finish. Robust, with increased heat resistance, it provides a very hard wearing, protective coating for kitchen cupboards, worktops, tables and wood floors as well as sealing porous vertical surfaces such as concrete, unglazed tiles and brickwork. So it was more than adequate for this job.

With finishing coat you can apply coats with a kitchen sponge and it's dry and overcoatable after 15 minutes. Frenchic suggests you use a flat brush on TTC and leave it for approximately 30 minutes between coats. It's fully dry after 16 hours. Beautiful matt finish and again, the client loved it. Doesn't the chair look great?

As for the Tuff Top Coat, its environmentally friendly composition, ISO 11998 Class 1 Wet Scrub rating, EN71-3 compliance and no added VOCs, means it is also perfect for children’s toys.
